How to plan your day for success
How do you want to feel at the end of your day? Do you want to feel accomplished, successful, and motivated or tired, frustrated, and drained? The answer is up to how well you plan for success. A productive day starts with a good night’s sleep so that your mind can be rested. But how do you make sure that happens? This blog post will give seven steps on how to plan for success by laying out a great morning routine, getting organized throughout the day, and having an efficient evening routine.
Get up early
Before the sun comes up. Your body needs time to prepare for being awake and active, so you should get a hearty breakfast, drink plenty of water, and exercise in order to be energized throughout the day. Get up at least 30 minutes earlier than your typical wakeup time so that you can have enough time to eat, hydrate and exercise first thing in the morning.
Drink a glass of water and eat breakfast
Drink a glass of water and eat breakfast as soon as you wake up to get your energy levels going.
Try eating a nutritious breakfast that includes protein and complex carbohydrates in order to feel energized for the whole day or morning routine.
A great start is with eggs, oats, berries, and chia seeds because these are how many carbs your body needs for an active lifestyle on top of having plenty of protein, so you’ll have all-day power.
If it’s not possible to eat until after exercising, then drink at least 12 ounces (350 milliliters) before working out and another 12 ounces when you’re done exercising. If those amounts don’t seem like enough water for what you need, then try drinking 16 ounces four times throughout the day.
Plan your day with a to-do list
Do you often find yourself overwhelmed with how many things are on your to-do list and how little time there is in the day? That’s because most people don’t know how to plan their days for success. To avoid this, create a daily task checklist so that you can be prepared by listing all of the tasks that need to get done every day.
A great way to start each morning is by tackling one or two items from your list while drinking coffee. You’ll feel more energized throughout the rest of the day just thinking about how productive you were first thing in the morning!
If it feels too difficult, then break up large steps into smaller ones where possible, so they’re easier to accomplish. This will help me stay motivated and feel accomplished as well.
Exercise for at least 30 minutes
Exercise is a great way to get the blood pumping through your veins and endorphins flowing so that you can feel motivated and energized throughout the day. Exercise for at least 30 minutes in order to stay energetic, be productive, and increase how often you’ll eat healthy meals.
If it doesn’t happen before work, then try fitting in exercise during lunchtime or after work when possible. If this is too difficult, then consider working out from home with an online program like Firstar, where all of their workouts are just 15-25 minutes long!
Take care of any errands before it gets too late in the day
Time is precious. The hours slip away from us like sand in an hourglass, and before we know it, the day will be over. There are errands to run, things that need doing around the house – don’t let them pile up! You’ll find yourself putting off what needs to be done until tomorrow because you’re too tired or lazy today, but when tomorrow comes, there won’t even be enough time left for these tasks any way. Don’t get caught with your pants down again: take care of any chores now before they become impossible later on this evening so you can have a stress-free restful night’s sleep tonight!
Get everything done on your daily schedule
Make sure you have enough time to get everything done on your daily schedule so that you can relax and enjoy the evening when it’s time to go home. If you keep yourself so busy that there’s never any time for rest, then how can you expect to be productive tomorrow? It’s important to have a balance of work and leisure: take care of the tasks now and enjoy what life has to offer this evening.
Get rid of distractions – turn off your phone, close all other screens, or use a program like Freedom to block websites while you’re working.
If you have a tough time being productive because of how often your phone is distracting, then it’s important to get rid of distractions. Turn off the notifications on your phone so that there are no interruptions from apps like Facebook or email for at least 30 minutes in order to stay focused and avoid distraction.
Close all other screens as well, such as Skype, Facetime, or anything else where people can contact you during work hours. If possible, try using the Freedom program, which blocks websites while working – this way, not even you will be able to access any sites until after work when they’re blocked again!
Stay away from negative people
It’s easy to get caught up with how many problems everyone has along with their own expectations – but how productive can that be for you? Stay away from negative people in order to stay positive and motivated. You’ll find yourself getting down on how difficult life is with how much they’re complaining.
It’s better instead to surround yourself with positive people who are always looking at the bright side of things – this way, productivity will come naturally as well!
