How to plan research is a question that has puzzled many people. If you are one of them, this post will help you understand how to do it. Research planning involves identifying the problem and then finding out how to solve it.
We will discuss how to identify problems in detail later on in the article, but for now, we’ll focus on how to find solutions for those problems. This blog post will cover 12 steps that should be taken when conducting research and how they can help your business or organization succeed!
Step One: Identify the Problem
The first step in how to plan research is identifying what you are trying to find a solution for. If your company needs to improve customer service or if you want more clients, then clearly that’s the problem! Or maybe it’s something simpler like not having enough time to do everything and therefore need help with how best to schedule their day. Whatever the challenge may be, identify it so we can move on.

One thing I have learned from experience as an entrepreneur is how important planning of any type really is. For me personally, this has been especially true when building my business; creating strategies for marketing, how to execute a plan, how to evaluate performance, and set goals. I often hear people say that they don’t have time for planning or think it’s not necessary, but really it is essential!
Step Two: Brainstorm Solutions
Now with the problem identified, we can brainstorm possible solutions. This step will be much easier if you come up with as many ideas as possible first before moving on to evaluating them later on. So start listing all of your thoughts down about how best to solve this issue–try thinking creatively too! For example, let’s say our challenge was better scheduling challenges; one idea could be delegating workaround, so no tasks are missed or hiring an assistant in order to free up some time.

- Redesign how we view our ideal customers so they are more realistic in how much service is expected of them or what type of service should be offered.
Step Three: Evaluate Ideas & Choose One Solution
Now that you have your list compiled with as many solutions as possible, it’s time to evaluate each one individually. Be sure not only to look at whether this solution will help resolve the issue but also how likely it is that this idea could become a reality–can you really hire someone else? Is there enough money right now?
Keep these things in mind when evaluating ideas because sometimes, even though an idea may sound like a great solution, it might not be the best for you at this moment.
Once you have your final idea and how to go about implementing it, that’s when we will move on to step four!
Step Four: Plan how to Implement Solution
Now with our chosen fix identified from before, it is time to plan how exactly we are going to implement (or achieve) this goal. This can be as simple or complex as necessary–it just needs enough detail so someone else could repeat what you did if needed. For example, let’s say I want more customers; one of my solutions was redesigning how ideal clients should look, which includes price ranges and how much service they should be expected to provide.
One of the ways I could go about this is by creating a list that breaks down how different price ranges will affect me, which would include how many customers fall in each bracket and how profitable it may or may not be. On top of all that, I also need to consider how important it is for my company to have repeat business, so some portion of those clients needs to be reserved as potential returnees in order to generate more revenue!
Step Five: Create a Timeline
Now before we can start working on our plan–or any project–we first need an idea of when our desired outcome should happen, otherwise known as goals. This timeline usually consists of two dates: one being your deadline and the other being how much time is needed in order to complete.
For example, let’s say my goal was to have a new blog post published on this site by next Friday at noon; that would be our deadline, and it would take roughly four hours from start to finish for me to get everything done (including editing). This timeline will also help you keep track of how long each task took, which can be useful when assigning deadlines in the future!

Every research study starts with a plan. A good researcher will always have an idea of what they want to achieve and then put together the best possible project for achieving that goal, considering all potential obstacles along the way.
A well-thought-out plan is essential when conducting any type of serious scientific inquiry or experiment as it helps you understand which steps need to be taken in order to reach your desired outcome; understanding whatever challenges stand between you and success should also prove invaluable during this process given how much easier it can make things on yourself down the line if one has already accounted for them ahead of time!
